Menstruation problems, infertility and menopausal syndrome, are common problems faced by many women in Singapore. Irregular or painful menstruation in young girls are early signs of body imbalances and these may lead to infertility in adulthood. At menopausal age, some women experience more symptoms such as hot flushes, excessive sweating and even insomnia, than peers of similar age group.

These conditions are described by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as imbalances in the body, and can be relieved with the use of appropriate treatment. Physicians often use Chinese herbal medication, and may apply acupuncture methods if necessary, to relieve the symptoms and restore the balance of our internal environment.

TCM stresses on maintaining good lifestyle, diet and mood in the treatment of women’s health and requires that both physicians and patients collaborate with each other on lifestyle adjustment in order to prevent recurrence of diseases.
